Shedeur Sanders will be in a four-way battle with Deshaun Watson, Taylen Green and Dillon Gabriel for the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback job.
The franchise added depth to an already crowded quarterback room by drafting Green at No. 182 in the sixth round. Browns general manager Andrew Berry set high expectations for Sanders on Tuesday.

“To take another step and keep growing and learning,” Berry said, via ESPN Cleveland. “I think he’s had a really nice offseason. He did a really nice job at voluntary minicamp. I think his improvements in decision making and pocket management by the end of the year and certainly what we’ve seen so far in a very short spring have been positive.

“And I expect him to have more command of the offense and better ball security and situational awareness as we go into Year 2.”

Sanders was drafted by the Browns in the fith round in 2025. He began last season as a backup before being named the starter by Week 12.
Sanders registered a 3-4 record. He completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Taylen Green sends a warning to Shedeur Sanders after getting drafted by the Browns
Taylen Green addressed reporters on Saturday and sent a message to the Browns’ quarterback room.
“I’m a dawg and I’m competitive,” Green said. “I’m going to do whatever it takes to win, whatever it takes to get that first down, whatever it takes to score, if that’s laying my shoulder down to get a first down or if that’s hurdling somebody.
“And I’m going to give all I have, all my might and all I got into it. So, that’s why I want to let the franchise and let the fans know.”
The Arkansas quarterback is only at the beginning of his NFL journey, but he’s already thinking big about what he wants to accomplish.
