Shedeur Sanders has arrived for the biggest moment of his NFL career so far, but it has been met with nothing but derision.
On Saturday, the Cleveland Browns quarterback was spotted arriving in San Francisco for this coming Tuesday’s Pro Bowl Games at the Moscone Center. He was wearing a white hoodie, black pants, and two-color sneakers and dragging a large white suitcase:

Sanders’ Pro Bowl nod has drawn much criticism from both fans and players alike. New York Giants tackle Jermaine Eluemunor called the event “a joke” in the aftermath of that announcement:
He also insisted that the Tennessee Titans’ Cam Ward would have been a better choice despite leading the league in sacks, yards lost to sacks, fumbles, and lost fumbles:
Meanwhile, former MVP Cam Newton decried the nomination as a “rage bait” move in the latest episode of his 4th-&-1 podcast (from 32:40 in the video below):
“Given the circumstances of what the Pro Bowl is and what it used to be is two different Pro Bowls… That ain’t nothing but a flag football game.”

Michael Irvin, Richard Sherman share positive takes on Shedeur Sanders’ Pro Bowl appearance
Not all reactions towards Shedeur Sanders’ nomination were negative, however. On his YouTube channel, Hall of Famer Michael Irvin called it “a hell of an achievement” and extolled its commercial benefits, even making an analogy to Jake Paul:
“Nobody cared about the Pro Bowl. Now everybody cares, everybody’s talking about the Pro Bowl.”
Former NFC cornerback Richard Sherman offered similar thoughts on his eponymous podcast:
“I’m happy for sure. I think this will be good for the pro ball because of the attention and eyeballs that it should bring; people will watch because he’s playing, he has star power, he has a Lord, and he has all those things, just like his dad, the great Deion Sanders, Prime Time.”
The Pro Bowl Games will air on ESPN, Disney XD, and NFL+.
