YouTuber BJ Courville has recently claimed that Desiree Perez got a court order to check her DMs connected to her ongoing case against her daughter Demoree Hadley. Perez is the CEO of Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z back in 2008.

For the unversed, Demoree Hadley filed a lawsuit against her mother in 2025. There, Hadley alleged that Desiree Perez had wrongfully admitted her to a drug treatment centre, and had also used false allegations to get Demoree’s husband arrested multiple times.

Additionally, the lawsuit accused Desiree of illegally surveilling her daughter and hacking her iCloud account. It described the Roc Nation CEO as a “convicted felon,” and claimed that she had used her power and position to “tear” her daughter’s family apart.

On June 3, 2026, BJ Courville released a video claiming that the court had passed the order allowing Desiree Perez to go through Courville’s DM. Furthermore, she narrated the events that seemingly connected her to the case, including an interview with Demoree Hadley.

Speaking about the court order, she opined:

“It’s very unfortunate that this is how it works. And it’s also pretty isolating if I’m being honest to know that any of my messages with anybody can just be subpoenenaed like that and blasted across the entire world because I’m content creator. Why is it that I have less rights to privacy than the next person?”

The YouTuber claimed to have gotten no opportunity to be discuss whether her “privacy interests might outweigh the speculative relevance” of the information demanded in the court order.

Recalling her experience interviewing Hadley, BJ Courville said:

“She had absolutely no input at all whatsoever on the edits. She did not make any suggestions. She did not make any requests other than asking me to redact any of the personal information that was included on any evidence or documents she sent to me to back up her claims, medical information specifically address. She basically didn’t want me to dox her.”

However, the video got removed soon after because an alleged law firm representative called Reed Smith issued a copyright violation claim. The strike was ultimately revoked when Courville allegedly filed for an appeal on YouTube.

Thereafter, Courville proceeded to show the court order and her textual interaction with Demoree Hadley in her YouTube video. The order sought all communications between “plaintiff and social media personalities” on “all messaging platforms,” including Whatsapp, TikTok, X, Instagram or “media platforms that enable direct messaging.”

Other YouTube channels that were also included in the order were Demoree Docket, TashaK, Vegeta of Gag City, Vegetabarb, Jaguar Wright, Xaviaer DuRousseau, That Surprise Witness, J.D., Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, NCB6, ABC and more.

The YouTuber finally proceeded to show all the text messages between herself and Hadley, claiming that the latter had the rights to share her story if she wanted to do so. Watch BJ Courville reading her textual interaction with Demoree Hadley from timestamp 16:15 of her latest video.

After going through the texts, Courville claimed that they “didn’t say a bad word about Desiree at all.” The YouTuber ended her video by calling the entire situation “diabolical” and “maniacal.” She also predicted that it will have a “pretty chilling effect” for anyone with a social media account.
