Rhea Ripley has been at the top of the mountain following WrestleMania 42. Recently, Mami made a hilarious reveal where her grandmother wanted to wrestle Ripley’s opponent at an event.
Rhea Ripley had her humble beginnings in the industry on the independent circuit in Australia. Mami later appeared in NXT UK and NXT before arriving on WWE’s main roster under the old regime. Today, she’s arguably one of the most popular female wrestlers in the industry.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon, the 29-year-old recalled a hilarious incident where her grandmother was furious after watching a chair spot. Mami revealed that her nonna wanted to get in the ring and fight her opponent for breaking the chair on Ripley’s head.
“She came to one of my matches on my 18th birthday. My whole family was there. So, I knew this was gonna rattle them up. I pitched to take a chair shot to the head, which isn’t good these days. But I was young and stupid, and I wanted to fit in with everyone. Yeah, I took it, and the whole chair broke completely, like it busted… My nonna lost her s**t, and she nearly jumped the barricade. But she was all fired up. She was ready to k*ll. She wanted to have a match then and there. She was ready to go,” Ripley said.
