Qualifier 2 will see the Gujarat Titans (GT) face off against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mullanpur. A spot in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) final against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be on the line for both teams.

GT and RR have already met twice this season, and the spoils were shared. The Royals came out on top by six runs in the first meeting, while the Titans bounced back with a 77-run win that helped them finish in the top two.

Gujarat are on the back of a thrashing at the hands of RCB in Qualifier 1. Rajasthan, meanwhile, thumped the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator.

GT’s squad for IPL 2026: Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Kagiso Rabada, Kumar Kushagra (wk), Manav Suthar, Mohammad Siraj, Arshad Khan, Anuj Rawat (wk), Glenn Phillips, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Ishant Sharma, Jason Holder, Ashok Sharma, Kulwant Khejroliya, Luke Wood, Jayant Yadav, Nishant Sindhu, Prasidh Krishna, R. It’s virtually impossible to accurately predict the outcome of the GT vs RR playoff match. Both teams have quality in both departments, and much could come down to what happens in the powerplay.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the obvious threat. If Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada can see the back of him early, RR might not have enough strength in the batting department to stack up against GT’s pace battery.

However, the converse is true as well. Jofra Archer has breathed fire throughout IPL 2026, and if he can send back Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, the Titans will find themselves seriously undermanned in the middle overs.

Generally, though, GT’s top three don’t fail too often. Gill and Sudharsan are due, as is Buttler. If they can play out Archer, they should be able to attack the other bowlers and perhaps get the job done.

The toss will be crucial once again, with the chasing team having the advantage. GT might be the slight favorites due to RR’s dependence on Archer and Vaibhav.

Prediction: GT to win the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2.
