Media personality DJ Akademiks recently claimed that The Breakfast Club co-hosts have allegedly discouraged people from working with Nicki Minaj by claiming that the rapper is schizophrenic and bipolar. Akademiks made this claim via his alternate X account @AkademiksTV, alleging that Loren Lorosa and Charlamagne tha God have been spreading alleged rumors about the Anaconda rapper.

As of this article, Akademiks did not cite a source for his claim, but his X post accused The Breakfast Club co-hosts of intentionally targeting himself and Drake, writing:

“Loren Larosa and Charlamange have allegedly been telling people in the industry behind the scenes that Nicki Minaj is bipolar and schizophrenic and to not work with her First Drake and Akademiks now Nicki why would two mouth pieces for a radio station be telling people not to work with Nicki Minaj.”

In a follow-up post, Akademiks linked to an October 2025 episode of The Breakfast Club and captioned it, “When they said Nicki was bipolar and schizophrenic in 4K live on air.” The clip was taken from an episode of the radio show where the hosts discussed one of Nicki Minaj’s viral tweets, in which she slammed Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, after the couple had appeared on The Breakfast Club to talk about Mane’s bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

During the episode that aired on October 20, Ka’oir explained how she helped manage Mane’s episodes, saying that one of the first steps was to cut his access to his social media accounts by deleting the app on his phone. Following this, Minaj went on a rant against Ka’oir in an X post that same day, accusing Mane’s wife of attempting to mimic her and alleging that she kept the rapper “sedated.”

The clip Akademiks had linked to saw The Breakfast Club hosts discussing the tweet and suggesting that maybe Minaj’s husband should step in to help his wife, like Ka’oir helps her husband during his episodes. Charlamagne also asked that the rapper’s friends and family get her the help she needs, adding that he was sending her “healing energy” and was praying for her.

“There’s a lot of fans online that are having a conversation right now following the interview if whether or not Kenneth, who is Nicki Minaj’s husband, should be doing the same for Nicki Minaj because she is online and there’s a lot of things that she’s saying,” Lorosa added.

Nicki Minaj called out Charlamagne tha God in her post about Keyshia Ka’oir

On October 2, 2025, Charlamagne tha God crowned Nicki Minaj as “Donkey of the Day” during an episode of The Breakfast Club amid her online spat with Cardi B. He also said the rapper’s energy was “stank and nasty,” and added that “truly, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart hope you heal.”

Weeks later, Minaj hit back at him in her X post about Keyshia Ka’oir on October 20, calling him a “fraud,” and referencing his past working for Wendy Williams, writing:

“Charlamane the fraud (Jay-Z friend & business associate) using iHeartRadio for these disgusting ploys against innocent families. He was around Wendy b4 her life went to hell. The buck stops here baby. Bookmark this tweet. Yall really do not understand who I really am. Bring it 🙂 Let’s play. Yall wanted attention? Let’s do it.”

In other news, Nicki Minaj recently visited Elon Musk’s planned Starship V3 launch at the Starbase facility on May 21 and thanked the billionaire for everything he was doing for humanity. The launch was scrapped that day due to technical difficulties, and was resolved the following day.
