TKO’s President Mark Shapiro recently shared whether he regretted a controversial decision made by WWE. The promotion is currently on the road to Clash in Italy on May 31.
Speaking with Yahoo! Finance, Shapiro admitted that he urged Nick Khan to have WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas last month. It was the second year in a row that The Show of Shows was held at Allegiant Stadium. Shapiro admitted that he may have made a mistake, but revealed later in the interview that he had no regrets about the decision.
Thanks for the submission!
“Absolutely no regrets on going back [to Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42]. The only reason you’re hearing some of, ‘Hey, it’s not what it was last year,’ it’s because we’re not benefiting from the first mover experience,” he said. (H/T: ITRWrestling)

Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. The American Nightmare will be putting the title on the line against Gunther at Clash in Italy later this month.
Roman Reigns got the better of CM Punk in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns is scheduled to defend the title against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match at the PLE next weekend.
Mark Shapiro suggests TKO is in control of WWE creative
Mark Shapiro recently suggested that TKO had control over the promotion’s creative process.
Speaking at the University of Alabama, a student asked about celebrities getting involved in wrestling storylines, and Shapiro stated that TKO was responsible for those decisions.
“So, I will kind of walk you through that. First of all, it (TKO) has complete control. So, we are responsible. You didn’t hear about this stuff in the old days with WWE when Vince McMahon owned it because it was a private company for so many years,” he said.
Only time will tell if the company has any surprises planned for fans on the road to WWE Clash in Italy 2026 next weekend.
