Nikki Bella finally addresses embarrassing WrestleMania 42 botch

Nikki Bella was replaced by Paige at WrestleMania 42 last month when she was unable to be medically cleared following an ankle injury.

The former WWE Divas Champion was forced to watch as her sister and Paige won the Women’s Tag Team Championships in her place, after what was an embarrassing botch on the ramp.

While appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Nikki Bella was able to address the botch, noting that she was super emotional at the time.

“Super emotional. I couldn’t even say ‘medically’ right. I messed it up. Nobody ever tells you but the echo in stadiums, it’s like I was talking to myself. The words were hitting me back in the face. I was like ‘Wait, why wasn’t I warned? I’m so emotional right now!” she confirmed.

Nikki Bella tripped over her words as she announced that she wasn’t medically cleared despite trying so hard to ensure that she could come out and perform at WrestleMania.

It is now a month later, and the former champion still hasn’t returned to the ring. The recent updates don’t expect her to be out of action for much longer, but it’s clear that the injury is much worse than originally feared.

Nikki Bella could want the Women’s Tag Team Championships when she returns to WWE

Nikki Bella announced Paige as her replacement at WrestleMania, but it’s clear that at the time, she didn’t expect to be out of action for as long as she has. Paige has not only won the titles, but she has also been able to defend them successfully several times.

This means that she probably wouldn’t want to hand them over to Nikki when she is able to make her return. The only real way that this could end amicably would be if she is able to align with the two women and they freebird the titles.

Of course, this is the Bella Twins, so it’s unlikely that they will want Paige to be part of the team when they have each other, so this could lead to an interesting few weeks for the three women and could even be the only thing that brings AJ Lee back to WWE.
