DeSince making his big league debut in 2023, Elly De La Cruz has made a name for himself as one of the most talented players in baseball. Still only 24, the Dominican has two All-Star selections to his name.
Having signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent in 2018, De La Cruz still has several years of team control left on his contract. He will become an unrestricted free agent in 2030.
Nonetheless, given his outstanding talent, it is pretty much a certainty that whatver team eventually acquires him in free agency will have to break the bank to do so. Another factor working in his favor is that he is represented by Scott Boras, a ‘super-agent’ who is known for helping his clients get the most lucrative deals.
