A major name in wrestling hilariously likened a former AEW star to Danhausen’s mystery partner at WWE Backlash. The star has now hit back.

On SmackDown a week before Backlash, General Manager Nick Aldis gave Danhausen the chance to take on the Miz and Kit Wilson at the pay-per-view, on the condition that he find a tag partner. What followed was a comical search for a partner for the Very Nice, Very Evil star, which culminated in him cloning himself, albeit unsuccessfully. At Backlash, the mystery partner was revealed to be a midget wrestler dressed as a mini-version of Danhausen (later revealed to be Mexican luchador Mascarita Sagrada), and the duo managed to defeat the A Lister and Wilson after various shenanigans. The bout was no wrestling marvel, but it served its purpose as comic relief, keeping fans entertained. Interestingly, wrestling insider Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful added to the humor with a post on X congratulating former AEW star Marko Stunt for being Danhausen’s partner.

Sapp was making fun of Stunt’s height because Stunt is just 5’2″ tall, which is below the average height for men in professional wrestling. Stunt caught wind of SRS’s post and offered a rebuttal, saying Jack Perry was right about Sapp. For those unaware, Perry had called out SRS during a livestream with his girlfriend and fellow AEW wrestler Anna Jay, accusing him of spreading misinformation about Jay’s status and contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“Jack was right,” wrote Stunt

Ex-AEW star Marko Stunt recently became a champion

Marko Stunt had earned his stripes in All Elite Wrestling as part of the Jurassic Express alongside Jack Perry and Luchasaurus. However, in 2024, the 29-year-old had to announce his retirement from wrestling due to health concerns. That said, Stunt came out of retirement this year and Joey Janela’s GCW event Spring Break X. A few days ago, Stunt confirmed on X that he had become the new Gladiator Championship Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion.

“#andnew Gladiator Championship Wrestling cruiserweight champion 😈🔥 #FSOT #funsizeontour #newchamp,” Stunt wrote on X

It will be interesting to see whether Tony Khan will bring Marko Stunt to All Elite Wrestling now that he’s wrestling again.
