There was some excitement around who Danhausen’s mystery partner could have been at WWE Backlash 2026. Many names were thrown out, but the actual reveal turned out to be something else.
The Miz and Kit Wilson made their entrances in the third match of the night. Prior to this, Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins in the opening match, while Trick Williams established his superiority by defeating Sami Zayn to retain the United States Championship, much to the delight of fans. The “in-between” match on the card was that of The Miz and Kit Wilson as they faced off against Danhausen and a mystery partner. There was quite a bit of speculation around who this could have possibly been. On-screen, the former AEW star doesn’t have too much in the way of allies. It’s well-known that off-screen, he is great friends with CM Punk. So, since CM Punk hadn’t been on TV after the post-WrestleMania edition of RAW, some fans hoped that it would be him.
Thanks for the submission!
However, that wasn’t the case. Instead, it turned out to be a “Minihausen”, which was a little person version of Danhausen. The crowd was understandably underwhelmed by this moment, but they still surprisingly got into it. There was even a twist in which the “cloning machine” worked again, leading to more Minihausens emerging to help the duo. Before that, the odds were against them. The minihausens would help him defeat The Miz and Kit Wilson.
There isn’t much one can say about the big reveal that was supposed to be the show’s selling point, or at least a part of it. There was even a moment when it seemed John Cena’s appearance was over, and it was just a pre-taped segment where he plugged Club WWE.
Either way, this was what it was.
