AEW superstar Will Ospreay has built a career filled with major honors, but today he celebrates a major personal milestone.

Will Ospreay arrived in All Elite Wrestling in November 2023 after years of making waves and winning championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The Aerial Assassin quickly won over AEW fans, who were enthralled by his in-ring ability and charisma. Within months of his arrival, Ospreay secured his first major title in the Jacksonville-based promotion, winning the International Championship from Roderick Strong at Double or Nothing 2024. From there, the British star went from strength to strength, establishing himself as a main event draw and one of the biggest babyfaces in the promotion. His upward momentum then came to an abrupt halt at Forbidden Door 2025, where, following an attack by the Death Riders, he was written off TV to nurse a neck injury that required surgery.

A little over six months later, at Revolution 2026, the Aerial Assassin made his blockbuster return to Tony Khan’s promotion and immediately targeted Moxley and the Death Riders. At Dynasty 2026, he challenged the Purveyor of Violence for the Continental title but lost. That loss effectively ended his feud with the Death Riders. After the match, Moxley took an interest in him, and he has since taken him under his wing. Recently, the Commonwealth Kingpin returned to NJPW and won the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship alongside his United Empire teammates HENARE and Great-O-Khan. Today, he celebrates turning 33. In commemoration, AEW posted a birthday graphic on X for the British star.

“Happy birthday to the Aerial Assassin @WillOspreay!”

AEW star Will Ospreay on wrestling post-neck surgery

In a recent interview with Forbes, Will Ospreay revealed that he’s experienced ups and downs since his return and is trying to learn how to wrestle under a new structure, given that he now has to protect his neck more.

“Up and down quite a lot of the time. I’m getting by, but it’s still a new thing for me right now. This was the first surgery I’ve ever had, and it turned out to be one of the most major surgeries you could have. It’s still a bit of a learning experience, trying to learn how to wrestle with a new structure, I guess. It’s a challenge, but I’m doing fine,” he said.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Will Ospreay in All Elite Wrestling.
