One fan commented:

“Nothing says, “decline of the empire,” more than this. Disgusting and disgraceful.”

Meanwhile, other fans wrote:

“Is it bread & circus? Yes. Is Trump an anti-constitutional f*ck wit? Yes. But is that belt dope? Hell yeah.”

“Crazy it’s gonna be wrapped around a Brazilian and a Spaniard.”

“What a joke.”

“Surprised it doesn’t have an image of himself [Trump] on the belt being it’s on his birthday and all.”

“So is the rumor about the commission not letting it be a real fight… Is that true or false it seems it’s real sanctioned fights?”

The controversy adds to the already polarized reception surrounding UFC Freedom 250, scheduled for the White House South Lawn on June 14. The event is being promoted as part of celebrations connected to the United States’ 250th anniversary and Trump’s 80th birthday.

The card is expected to feature major fights, including Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title unification bout. Additional matchups include Alex Pereira versus Ciryl Gane and Sean O’Malley against Aiemann Zahabi.

Dana White says only lightning can stop historic UFC Freedom 250 event

Dana White revealed that weather-related lightning is the only factor that could potentially disrupt the planned UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House.

The outdoor card will feature a temporary arena on the South Lawn with additional viewing areas at the Ellipse for thousands of fans. White stated that the UFC plans to proceed through rain or other weather conditions, with lightning remaining the sole concern due to safety protocols.

He also confirmed that military officials will assist with weather monitoring throughout fight week. In a recent edition of My View with Lara Trump, White said:

“We’re going to be doing all kinds of things, you know, in D.C. for fans, and it’s really a cool city… If you’re a UFC fan, this is absolutely positively the time to come to D.C. If it rains, we’re going. If it snows, we’re going. The only thing that will stop us is lightning. But we’re working with the military.”
