In the chaotic landscape of WWE where storylines and rivalries dance in hymn, championship represents the ultimate reward. It symbolizes a sense of pride and excellence, marking a major accolade for superstars. Currently, there are several big names like Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley holding some of the most prestigious championships of their respective division. However, none of the champs are immune to immortality.
Every champion is destined to lose their gold eventually, but there are certain superstars whose downfall is looming just around the corner. Their days as champions might be numbered as the WWE Universe could see multiple titles changing hands this month. This article analyzes such champions who might lose their coveted title, given the recent storyline developments on RAW and SmackDown.
Thanks for the submission!
Here are four champions who are at a greater risk of losing their championship this month:
#4. Logan Paul and Austin Theory
Logan Paul and Austin Theory captured the World Tag Team Championship back in March this year by defeating The Usos. They are currently reigning supreme on Monday Night Raw, holding the titles captive. However, their days as champions might be numbered as The Vision may lose their gold to The Street Profits this month. The two teams have been embroiled in a heated rivalry on the red brand, which kicked off on the RAW after WrestleMania 42
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been chasing Logan Paul and Austin Theory ever since they returned to WWE. The duo made it clear that they want the World Tag Team Championship. However, they have yet to lock horns in a proper tag team match and it looks like that could come to fruition in the coming weeks. Adam Pearce could make a huge match official between The Street Profits and The Vision, where the tag title may change hands.
#3. Paige and Brie Bella
The women’s tag team division has gotten quite interesting lately, with multiple teams trying to make a name. Whether it’s Nia Jax & Lash Legend from SmackDown or Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez from RAW, every other team has its eyes set on the Women’s Tag Team Championship. It looks like the clock is ticking on Paige and Brie Bella’s title reign as they might lose their gold very soon, potentially by the end of this month.
The babyface duo captured the title at WrestleMania 42 in a historic moment, which delivered a great nostalgic pop. However, it does not look like Triple H has long-term plans to keep Paige and Brie the champs. There are currently several contenders who could dethrone them. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have been in the race and so are Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. But what looks certain at this point is that a title change is on the horizon.
#2. Damian Priest and R-Truth
Damian Priest and R-Truth are two names who are also at a great risk of losing their titles. Ever since winning the WWE Tag Team Championship, their booking has been lackluster. The company featured them on backstage segments and random matches that held little to no meaning. Besides, Truth and Priest’s championship did not look any more promising either. And whenever it happens, WWE looks to hit the reset button.
Triple H could therefore crown new champions on SmackDown at some point this month. Besides, the WWE Tag Team Championship has also been quite volatile, with it frequently changing hands. This is another indication that the clock is ticking on R-Truth and Damian Priest’s championship reign. It will be quite interesting to see who dethrones the babyface duo, as Friday Night SmackDown does not have any credible tag teams left in recent times.
#1. Penta can lose the WWE Intercontinental Title
The name that is most likely to drop his prestigious title this month is Penta. The 41-year-old captured the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio on the March 2 episode of WWE RAW. Since then, he has been defending it regularly on the shows. However, El Miedo’s time as champion is seemingly nearing its final days. Several superstars are currently in the race to capture the IC Title, including Rusev, Je’Von Evans and Ethan Page.
There is a very good possibility that one of them could end up dethroning Penta this month in the coming weeks. The masked luchador has had an incredible title reign since March and WWE could now be looking for a fresh face. A title change will help another superstar to come to the spotlight while maintaining a freshness in the mid-card division of Monday Night Raw. Hence, Penta is likely to lose his championship at some point this month.
