Trick Williams spoke about his former NXT rivals Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans. The three superstars have taken the main roster by storm since moving up.
Last year at NXT Stand & Deliver, Oba Femi walked in as the NXT Champion and successfully retained the title against Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Williams opened up about the match and explained how all three men pushed each other to a different level. The new WWE United States Champion said that he, Oba Femi, and Je’Von Evans have the ambition to be at the top of the business.
“Myself, Oba, Je’Von, we all worked Stand & Deliver last year. And I remember everybody said, ‘I’m going crazy. They’re gonna remember our match.’ And that’s exactly what we did last year. Those are two guys, and myself included, who want to be the top of the business. We all competing, you know what I mean? All three of us, we all want that number one spot. But it’s healthy. They’re my boys. ‘You went viral this week? I’m going viral, too. I’m going viral this week.’ Every week, we’re at it. Level up. And I think we’re pushing each other. I’m glad to be with them boys because they want it.” said Williams. [H/T: WrestlePurists]

Mark Henry has claimed that Oba Femi needs to learn how to say “no”
Mark Henry has claimed that Oba Femi needs to learn how to say “no” if he isn’t emotionally invested in an idea. The former NXT Champion has been on a dominant run since moving up to the main roster. On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, he was victorious over Grayson Waller before issuing an Open Challenge.
Speaking to The Toronto Sun, the Hall of Famer shared the following piece of advice for The Ruler:
“It’s learning to say no. There’s some things that are not going to be good for you going forward and it’s tough to say no, but you have be able to say, ‘We worked too hard to get to this point, I think that would take us backwards. Is there another way we could do it because that just doesn’t work for me.’ You’re not being difficult, you’re not being a butth*le, you’re being cautious and careful about your development and where you’re going. That’s just my advice to Oba and well as my advice to the company. Do the right thing and be flexible. Don’t be so rigid when an idea is struck and you just don’t feel it. If you emotionally can’t get your mind into it, it’s not going to play out well to the people that are watching.”
Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. Post-match, Lesnar signalled the end of his illustrious career, as he took off his boots and gloves.
