Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts racked up a career-high 25 touchdowns last season. However, the Eagles quarterback has copped criticism over his plays this offseason.
Hurts has been criticized after an ESPN report by Jeremy Fowler and Tim McManus shed light on his controversial behaviour on and off the field during the 2025 season.
Thanks for the submission!
NFL insider Kay Adams discussed the criticism Hurts has received this offseason with Eagles legend Donovan McNabb on Thursday. The former Eagles quarterback acknowledged Hurts’ issues on the “Up and Adams Show.”

“Well, I mean, when you look at percentage-wise, he’s at the lower tier of completing passes across the middle,” McNabb said. “Now what does that mean? Does that mean more tight-end and running back usage in that situation? That’s what I have been asking for for the last couple years … Dallas Goddert was a heck of a tight end. Zach Ertz was a hell of a tight end when they had him, and so you have running backs who can catch the ball out of the backfield. They have guys that can do it.

“Mannion coming over, and the offense that’s been creative, and the things that he’s been able to do under Sean McVay and Shanahan… And Jalen would do a great job with it. He just has to continue to get comfortable with what he’s seeing and being able to, you know, get the ball out when need be.”
The Eagles hired Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator in January after Kevin Patullo’s struggles in 2025. With Mannion incharge, Hurts is expected to improve his game in 2026.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman calls out “unfair” criticism of Jalen Hurts
Although Jalen Hurts has been subject of criticism after the controversial ESPN report, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has continued to back the Pro Bowl quarterback.
Roseman spoke highly of Hurts’ work ethic in a conversation with Adam Schein. and dismissed the “unfair” criticism the quarterback has received over the last few weeks.
“Well as a player, I think his success speaks for itself,” Roseman said. “Ever since he’s been a starting quarterback, all we do is go to the playoffs and been fortunate to be in two Super Bowls with him. Incredibly consistent and he continues to want to evolve and grow. He continues to want to get better and I think you are looking for that from anyone who has had success.
“Are they content? Are they looking to be challenged? And he’s like that in all fronts. In terms of his work ethic, his character, I mean those can’t be questioned. There’s no doubt about it, so I think for us, really feel like it’s unfair that this guy who has had this much success, has had to go through so many public things.”
