Undurraga Wine Group has appointed Chilean wine industry veteran Adolfo Hurtado Cerda as its new CEO.
Hurtado succeeds Andrés Izquierdo, who has led the business since 2017.
In a statement, the Santiago-based company said the leadership change marks the “beginning of a new stage in the group’s strategic development”.
Undurraga Wine Group is the holding company for Undurraga, Bouchon Family Wines, Bisquertt, Viñedos y Bodegas Volcanes de Chile, TIB and VFC. Its owners are Chilean businessman José Yuraszeck and Colombian investors Mauricio and Daniel Picciotto.
Hurtado brings more than three decades of experience in the Chilean wine sector.
He started as chief winemaker at Viña La Rosa from 1994 to 1997, before joining Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery as winemaking manager in 1997 and rising to general manager in 2000, a post he held until 2018.
He then led Viña MontGras as general manager for almost six years to March 2025.
Most recently, he worked as corporate general manager at Viñedos Familia Chadwick from April 2025 until taking the top job at Undurraga this week.
The Undurraga Wine Group board said his industry knowledge would be “essential to continue driving the development” of the group and to “consolidate its positioning in key markets”, which include Brazil, the Netherlands, the UK, China and Korea.
The Netherlands remains the company’s largest market, although Brazil is close behind, according to company information shared with Just Drinks.
Undurraga Wine Group, which has a product range including the Altazor and T.H. (Terroir Hunter) brands, said around 70% of its sales come from outside Chile.
The company also confirmed it achieved its 2024 sales target of $60m, though it did not disclose 2025 sales or profit figures.
Izquierdo, who is stepping down from the top executive role, was credited by the board with the “strengthening of the company’s portfolio, the development of its brands, and the expansion of its international presence” during his tenure.
Undurraga Wine Group also appointed a new CFO at the start of the month. Sebastián Irarrázaval joined on 1 April as chief financial and administrative officer.
Most recently, Irarrázaval was CFO at Chilean engineering company Fastpack for 18 months. However, he spent more than 15 years at Viña Concha y Toro in planning, finance, operations and supply-chain roles.
“Chile’s Undurraga Wine Group names new CEO” was originally created and published by Just Drinks, a GlobalData owned brand.
