Thai megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon has taken full responsibility for his past shortcomings on the scales.

The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion even ultimately paid the price for it, losing his 26 pounds of gold outside of the ring.

But through all the criticism he got from it, Rodtang kept fighting and took sole responsibility for his actions.

He let his actions speak for him, bringing a marvelous 274-43 career mark and 17 ONE Championship victories built on in-ring excellence.

‘The Iron Man’ told ONE Championship:

“Some people said I lost my [world] championship because of my own behavior. I would say people make mistakes in all kinds of professions and sports. If the mistakes stem from my side, I can fix them. Fighting with my opponents, I never missed. I always put my all. I am sure I’m serious enough to beat every opponent I’m facing.”

Rodtang’s path back to a world title begins this Wednesday at the ONE SAMURAI 1 main event on April 29 at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

That night, he’ll chase the ONE interim flyweight kickboxing world title against ‘Natural Born Krusher’ Takeru Segawa in one of the biggest rematches in combat sports history.

Rodtang reflects on everything he has accomplished

There’s no denying that Rodtang Jitmuangnon is the biggest Muay Thai superstar of this generation.

‘The Iron Man’ has come so far from his humble beginnings at took it all in before the biggest fight of his life. He told ONE:

“At one point, I dreamed about winning the World Championship. I already got it. And when I lost it, I feel like I have succeeded in a way. People lose things. I only want the audience to like me the way I am. The way that I have nothing. The way I fight. But having the belt means a lot. One day at one point, I would like to be remembered as Rodtang, with this fighting style.”
