San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch offered a big update on wideout Brandon Aiyuk, who has been linked with a move to the Washington Commanders this offseason. Although Aiyuk’s relationship with the team has deteriorated since last year, Lynch has made it clear that San Francisco does not plan to release the receiver anytime soon.
“No new update right now,” Lynch said on Saturday when asked about interest in Aiyuk from Washington. “We’re available. Give us a call.”
Thanks for the submission!
Lynch also explained that the 49ers want to trade Aiyuk.

“Like I said earlier, I think it’s the prudent thing to do,” Lynch said of trading Aiyuk on Saturday “He’s an extremely talented player. He’s been an extremely effective player in our league. The situation didn’t work itself out here. That’s not to say that it can’t be rekindled somewhere else. And we’d be happy to do something with anyone, if the opportunity presented itself.”

Aiyuk last played for San Francisco on Oct. 20, 2024, when he tore an ACL and an MCL in his right knee. However, since last season, his relationship with the franchise has gotten worse.
In November, the 49ers voided the guaranteed money in the wideout’s contract due to his unwillingness to rehab at their facility.
