A released former WWE Superstar disclosed whether he has had conversations with AEW. The star also declared that he is ready for a return to the ring now.

The released WWE star, Giovanni Vinci (aka Fabian Aichner) is ready for an in-ring return after a year. Vinci was with the Stamford-based promotion from 2017 up until his release in early 2025. He is known for his time in the Imperium faction alongside Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser. Since his release, Vinci has been out of action completely as well.

During his interview with Chris Van Viet on Insights, Giovanni Vinci was asked whether he had had any conversations with major promotions such as AEW or TNA since his WWE release. Vinci revealed that while he did have some good conversations, nothing is set in stone. He also declared that he is ready to return to action:

“Not really. I did eventually have some good conversations. But nothing is set in stone yet. I just know that the way I’m working out now, I think I’m good to go already, and the longer it goes on, the better setup I will be. And when that opportunity comes, wherever it is, I know I’m going to go all in and I’m going to kill it, because that was the whole point of taking that time off just to completely recharge the batteries and come back fresh,” Vinci stated. Former WWE star on his release from the promotion

In the same interview, the former WWE star, Giovanni Vinci also recalled his thought process when he learned that he was getting released from the Stamford-based promotion last year:

“Basically, you have all the great wrestlers, there’s just not enough time on the show. So when SmackDown went to three hours, I thought, well, maybe now it’s gonna happen, maybe here’s the chance, and whatever. Then, yeah, I wasn’t needed for TV for a couple of weeks. You don’t want to hear that call. But when it happened, I can’t say that I was really surprised at it. So it was kind of a weird mix of feelings,” Vinci said.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Giovanni Vinci.
