Drake upped the ante for his ICEMAN promotion by installing an ice sculpture in Toronto that is believed to contain the album’s awaited release date. On April 20, 2026, the rapper took to his Instagram account to reveal the sculpture, which is located at Bond Street, Toronto. Hours after the reveal, Drake fans were seen chipping at the sculpture with lighters, blow torches, pickaxes, and sledgehammers.
Meanwhile, X account @AkademiksTV posed the question to ChatGPT about how long it would take for the ice to melt on its own. The AI chatbot replied that it would take from 1-2 days and 2-4 days, depending on external conditions and weather.
The X account, run by affiliates of known Drake fan DJ Akademiks, posted a screenshot of their query to ChatGPT, first asking the chatbot what type of ice it was. ChatGPT suggested that the sculpture seemed to be made of clear block ice. When asked about the melting time in context with the Toronto weather, it replied:
“Given the Toronto forecast for the next few days…I’d estimate this structure will look seriously melted or partly collapsed within about 1-2 days, and be mostly gone around 2-4 days if it’s left outside with no cooling or cover. If it gets a lot of direct sunlight, the visible wall shape could degrade by the same day or next day. If it stays in more shade and nights dip close to freezing, it could hang on a bit longer, close to the upper end of that range.”
It added:
“So my best simple estimate is: about 2-4 days naturally, with the structure probably looking rough well before it disappears.”
What do we know about Drake’s ICEMAN?
Drake’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, titled ICEMAN, will be the rapper’s first solo project since his 2023 album For All The Dogs. The Hotline Bling rapper first began teasing the project in 2025 and has since released a few singles, including Which One, Dog House, and What Did I Miss?
Additionally, we know the album features fellow artists, as Central Cee collaborated with Drake on Which One and Yeat and Julia Wolf joined the rapper on Dog House. Meanwhile, What Did I Miss? debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs following its release in July.
Drake’s rollout for the forthcoming album has been different from the usual formulaic approach for new albums. The rapper decided to utilize the power of livestreaming and released three orchestrated hour-long livestream episodes last year that explored the album’s storyline while previewing new songs.
In a November interview with Complex, the rapper explained that he was willing to try something challenging, adding:
“I have been dying to act and have been dying for a challenge. The game is extremely calm seas right now. Nobody is rocking any boat on the water and so once we discussed a live stream rollout, it just sounded like the perfect mix of risk and reward for me.”
The episodes have sparked countless fan theories about the project, which Drake called “incredible,” adding:
“Being outside and getting a chance to interact with fans, and initiate audience participation as well as feedback has been amazing. We’re likely to end every episode in a public location as a through line, and also to enhance the live element. Some people have picked up on this. It’s also incredible to see people theorizing and either picking up on things or creating their own narratives.”
ICEMAN‘s release date has not been revealed as of this article.
