Videos of Becky G seemingly censored while she gave a shoutout to immigrants during her Coachella performance with Karol G recently went viral online. Becky G joined Karol G for the latter’s headlining performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 19, 2026, where they performed Mamiii.

During her performance, Becky G spoke in support of the immigrant community, and the feed seemingly cut out for a few beats during her speech. It is unclear whether the glitch was intentional. However, many found it suspicious that the glitch occurred while the singer was speaking in support of immigrants, given ICE’s ongoing operations in the United States.

People believed the singer was allegedly censored, with many taking to X to back her.

“We stand with Becky G.”

@BuzzingPop We stand with Becky G

Several netizens felt the same and praised the singer for her comments about immigrants.

@BuzzingPop Becky G really dropped the forbidden we love our immigrants line on the big stage and it’s the perfect time for a mysterious technical glitch.

@BuzzingPop f*ck magachella we stand with becky g

@BuzzingPop Becky G you’re the realest for calling those MAGA b***hes out and POINTING AT THEM!

@BuzzingPop Why censor Becky G? She just showed love. Coachella should be about good music and unity

However, others claimed the feed glitching out was not intentional. Some accused people of spreading misinformation, claiming the feed kept cutting out at various points of the festival, not just during Becky’s speech.

@BuzzingPop See this is why this whole immigrant talking point is getting annoying. Yall making up sh*t. The entire time the damn feed was in and out through the performance. Stop bullsh*tting

@BuzzingPop They would have killed the audio not the video feed… it happened multiple times during the set.

@BuzzingPop this has happened multiple times throughout the show stop spreading misinformation

@BuzzingPop It was just a camera thing cause it happened again later on…

Karol G made history as the first Latina artist to headline the annual music festival, held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Following the first weekend, Becky G took to Instagram to pay tribute to her fellow singer’s milestone. She included multiple pictures and videos of their performance together and wrote in the caption:

“My friend, Carolina, made history last night. The first Latina Artist to ever headline Coachella invited me to join her on stage. She gave us so much more than a show… She gave us hope & a much needed celebration of our community & culture. Beyond proud to have been a part of this! YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID!!!”

Becky G was not the only artist who spoke in favor of immigrants at Coachella. During her first weekend, Karol G dedicated her performance to the “Latinos who have been struggling in this country,” seemingly referencing the ICE operations, and added:

“At the same time this is about my Latinos who have been struggling in this country lately. We stand for them, I stand for my Latina community. I’m proud because this brings out the best of us, unity, resiliance, a strong spirit. We don’t do this because we want to take everyone out, we do this because we want everyone to feel welcome to our culture, to our music. I want everyone to feel proud of where you come from.”

Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber were the other headliners at Coachella alongside Karol G.
