The Jacksonville-based wrestling promotion AEW is known for assembling one of the top-tier rosters in wrestling history, especially its stacked women’s division. However, one top star, who was part of the company, is reportedly on her way back to their rival competition, WWE. She is none other than Saraya.
The former WWE Divas Champion joined All Elite Wrestling in 2022, which also marked her return to in-ring action after a period of retirement in 2018. She became a cornerstone of the company; however, Saraya made fewer appearances and finally announced her departure from AEW last year.
Following that, she took a break from in-ring competition, but announced that she would return to training in January 2026. Furthermore, a new report by PWInsider stated that she had re-signed with WWE after months of speculation. This could be one of the most significant moves the Stamford-based promotion might pull off, given her impact and role in the Women’s Revolution in the mid-2010s.
Moreover, should Saraya indeed show up back in WWE, here are the top six names from the AEW women’s division who could follow in her footsteps and join the TKO-led company in the future.
#6. Anna Jay
Anna Jay has been one of AEW’s captivating fixtures since the very beginning. She made her debut for the Jacksonville-based company in 2019 and showed good in-ring acumen and talent. Despite her immense potential and work ethic, Tony Khan has failed to capitalize on it. Moreover, her current contract is reportedly expiring in the spring this year. Following that, she could potentially sign with WWE, where she could be a great fit for its developmental territory, NXT, under the leadership of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.
#5. Persphone
Persphone has been one of the top prospects from the Mexican wrestling scene. She is currently under a dual contract with AEW and CMLL. Moreover, Persphone is also the current CMLL Women’s World Champion after defeating top star Mercedes Mone earlier this year. However, her deal is set to expire in 2026, and according to Dave Meltzer, there could be a huge bidding war for her. Moreover, he also believed that Persphone could eventually sign with WWE by the end of the year, which could be a great addition to their women’s division.
#4. Deonna Purrazzo
Deonna Purrazzo is known to be one of the most successful women’s wrestlers in TNA Wrestling history. The success and accolades in TNA led to her official signing with AEW in 2022. Moreover, her first major feud was for the AEW Women’s World Championship, leading many to believe she was poised for big things in the company. However, Purrazzo has made only a handful of appearances in her three-year stint in AEW and has primarily been a part of their sister promotion, Ring of Honor. Looking to expand her horizons in the big leagues, Purrazo could be an excellent addition to the WWE women’s roster when she becomes a free agent.
#3. Kamille
Kamille is one of the strongest and imposing stars on the AEW roster. While she recently returned to the company, The Brick Wall reportedly approached WWE about a potential signing in the past. The Stamford-based promotion could send over an exciting offer in an attempt to lure her away and add her to their women’s division, alongside dominant women like Jade Cargill, Rhea Ripley, and more.
#2. Ruby Soho
Ruby Soho has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since going on maternity leave in 2024. Even after having her baby girl that same year, she has not yet returned to the promotion. Should she remain on the sidelines, Soho should approach her former employer, WWE, and attempt to rejoin the promotion, possibly to reunite with her former co-worker and ally, Liv Morgan, who has now become one of the top stars in the company.
#1. Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker
One of the biggest signings WWE can make from the AEW women’s roster is Britt Baker. The Doctor has been absent from the company since November 2024. Moreover, Baker also revealed that her return was not in her hands. Following that, Tony Khan also issued a statement regarding her status:
“I really like Britt (Baker) a lot and I think there’s so many exciting things happening in the women’s division so, Britt’s somebody I really like and respect a lot and definitely think as we’ve evolved with more tag teams and singles wrestling opportunities now across multiple shows, now that we have four hours of TV with Dynamite and Collision, I think there’s gonna be more and more opportunities. You’re seeing I’m signing a lot more young wrestlers and Britt’s still somebody very highly regarded and respected here in AEW so, I would expect to see Britt back in AEW. I just don’t wanna say when,”
While Khan said he would love to welcome back The D.M.D., Fightful reported that her contract reportedly expires in the fall of this year. Baker should take advantage of her free agency and head to the global juggernaut to revive her career. Moreover, it could be a major acquisition of star power for WWE and lead to some of the most exciting dream matches in wrestling history.
