- Rennes have a good recent record against Angers. They’ve won two of their last three meetings, and have come out on top on the last four occasions that Angers visited the Roazhon Park. The last time Angers won there, in fact, was in October 2020.
- After two games without a win, Rennes picked up a big – and thrilling – victory last weekend. They defeated Brest 3-4, with forward Esteban Lepaul scoring a brace that moved him onto 16 goals for the season – putting him joint-top of Ligue 1’s scoring chart.
- Angers will be looking to play the role of spoiler here, and it’s something they achieved last weekend when they held another European-chasing side, Lyon, to a 0-0 draw. The draw ended a two-game losing run, but it’s worth noting that Angers have now only won one of their last seven.
- Rennes’ home record is a strong one this season, as they’ve only lost three times at the Roazhon Park and have also only failed to score at home in three matches too.
- While Angers appear safe from relegation now, their goalscoring record this season has been largely woeful. They’ve only scored 24 goals, with only Auxerre producing fewer. Moreover, since the start of 2026 they have only scored seven league goals in total.

Angers proved last weekend against Lyon that they are capable of making things difficult for Ligue 1’s better sides, but it’s hard to see them repeating that feat here.
Firstly, their struggles in front of goal continued last weekend, and they’ve now failed to score in five of their last seven games. Secondly, Rennes have a great home record this season and in the form of Esteban Lepaul, boast one of Ligue 1’s most dangerous players.
Angers may be able to keep this one tight based on what they did last weekend, but the prediction in the end is a narrow win for Rennes.
