A top AEW star discussed teaming up with his girlfriend on TV. Reigning TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher has been one of the fastest-rising stars of the Jacksonville-based promotion in the past couple of years. From being one-half of the Aussie Open to performing must-see matches on TV and pay-per-views, he has come a long way.

The Protostar has been dating fellow star Skye Blue since 2023. However, the duo hasn’t been involved in any storyline together. He has been part of the Don Callis Family, while she has been part of the Triangle of Madness. AEW President Tony Khan has rarely used storylines where he puts real-life couples on TV.

Meanwhile, speaking on WhatCulture Wrestling, Kyle Fletcher said he is definitely open to working with Skye Blue, but he is waiting for the right time. He also claimed that the two are happy with their characters right now.

“It’s something that we’ve definitely spoken about. I think it more so comes down to timing and when it feels like the right thing. I never want to force something just because it’s something that I want to do or we want to do. I think right now, we’re kind of building ourselves and building our own brands. If some point it feels like the right time to make that move, then it’ll happen. I don’t want to rule it out ever happening. I think that moment will probably come, but I think we’re both on our own paths right now and we’re pretty happy,” he said. [H/T: WrestlePurist on X]

Kyle Fletcher had a major setback in AEW

The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, and Kazuchika Okada defeated Jet Set Rodeo for the AEW World Trios Championship on the go-home Dynamite of Revolution.

Shockingly, the trio couldn’t stay champions for too long. At Revolution, Mistico and JetSpeed defeated them for the title. At the latest edition of Collision, the current TNT Champion regained some momentum after defeating Robbie Eagles.

It will be interesting to see what is next for The Protostar.
