WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns and CM Punk on tonight’s edition of RAW have reportedly been revealed. The Second City Saint is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 42 next month in Las Vegas.
According to a new report from BodySlam, the promo featuring CM Punk and Roman Reigns will be headlining this week’s episode of RAW. Reigns mocked Punk’s age last week on RAW and suggested that the former AEW star was old.
Thanks for the submission!
Roman Reigns won the Men’s Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia earlier this year and selected CM Punk as his WrestleMania opponent. The OTC told Punk that he chose him not because he was the biggest star on WWE RAW, but because he had always hated him.
The rivalry has become extremely personal over the past few weeks. Punk referenced Reigns’ deceased father, Sika Anoa’i, and vowed to bury The Tribal Chief next to him at WrestleMania 42. The Usos confronted the World Heavyweight Champion earlier this month on the red brand, but he refused to apologize. Jimmy Uso punched Punk in the face at the end of the promo, and Reigns approved of his actions in a backstage conversation last Monday night.
Former WWE star pitches wild stipulation for CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania bout
Stevie Richards recently suggested an interesting stipulation for the World Heavyweight Championship match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania.
Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, the veteran suggested that the rivalry could culminate in a Buried Alive match at the biggest show of the year next month.
“Is this one of those things with the world title match, which usually wouldn’t need [a stipulation]. Do we have it be a Street Fight? Do we have it be some stipulation to add something? Does Punk try to make it a Buried Alive Match in honor of Sika? (…) Do we add something where the stipulation backfires on Punk, say where Roman, Roman’s going over is my guess,” Richards said.
It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for the promo between Reigns and Punk in the main event of tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
