The Ambush global event returns one last time during the Anniversary update in The Division 2. Agents can use this opportunity to complete some of the toughest challenges in the game, as the event provides free damage from cover/standing upon activation.
Typically, like any global event, there’s “Stars” to be rewarded from doing activities while keeping the event active, alongside multiple essential caches that can be exchanged using those Stars.
This article lists all the challenges you can complete to gather 20 Stars for free from the event. Note that the challenges must be completed while keeping the Ambush global event active, which can be done from the Events Timeline page.
The Division 2 Ambush global event weekly challenges and how to complete them (March 17 to 24)
First, activate the event to make things work. Open up your Events Timeline page, followed by the Ambush global event page. Look for a small “Activate” option at the bottom of the page, and press the button according to the console you’re on.
The game will then take a few seconds to reload you back with the event’s modifiers, and you can now get the damage buff while in covers or stationary. Furthermore, completing activities while having the event active will earn you Stars.
However, the following challenges can also be completed for 20 Stars, alongside a Named Cache, Crafting Cache, Exotic Cache, and a Mask Skin:
- Eliminate 200 enemies using a Marksman Rifle while stationary. This can be done with The White Death Hotshot build in the open world: 4 Stars.
- Eliminate 200 enemies with headshots while stationary. This can also be done with The White Death’s Hotshot build: 4 Stars.
- Eliminate 200 enemies using Rifles while stationary. This can be done with the same Hotshot build, but with the 1886 Rifle in place of The White Death. Make sure to push your Headshot damage over 150%: 4 Stars.
- Eliminate 30 Warhounds while stationary. For this, run any Black Tusk mission: 4 Stars.
- Eliminate 50 Drones while stationary. Run the Tidal Basin mission for this: 4 Stars.
Lastly, head to The White House Settlement, and speak with the Event Vendor. They will have multiple caches for you that can be exchanged for the Stars you just earned.
