When will Battlefield 6 be free-to-play in March?

According to the announcement on the official X page, Battlefield 6’s free-to-play access will start from March 17, 2026, and will remain available till March 24, 2026. During this week, anyone will be able to download and play the massive warfare title.

Which maps and modes will be available during Battlefield’s free access period?

As per the official news, four maps will be available for players during the free access week of the game. The maps in question are as follows:

  • Contaminated: This is the newest map that has been released in the game. Players will be dropped into the European mountainside, where they have to evade psychoactive smoke, which is slowly filling the air.
  • Hagental Base: It is an upcoming new map that will be introduced with the ‘Nightfall’ update for Battlefield 6. It is a high-intensity map featuring underground close-quarters combat, flanking maneuvers, and tight tunnels.
  • Eastwood: In this open map, players will be dropped into the suburbs of Southern California, which features suburban houses, luxurious pools, and private golf courses.
  • Mirak Valley: One of the largest maps available in the game, Mirak Valley features a war-torn landscape that is criss-crossed with trenches, construction sites, broken buildings, and a lot more.

Alongside these maps, players will also get access to six game modes during Battlefield 6’s free access week. The modes in question are as follows:

  • Conquest: In this map, two teams fight to capture and hold multiple control points scattered all over the map. The objective of this mode is to bleed the enemy’s resources to zero, which can be done by controlling points and killing opponents.
  • Escalation: In this mode, two teams fight to capture strategic control points. As the territories of both teams expand, fewer control points remain, and the teams fight an all-out war for control of the last remaining points.
  • Breakthrough: In Breakthrough, teams fight over one sector at a time. One of the teams attacks, and the other defends. To win a sector, the attacking team will have to capture and hold all of the control points at the same time. The fight ends if all the sectors are captured by the attacking team or if they run out of respawn points.
  • Domination: It is a fast-paced, close-quarter mode where infantry units fight for territories. Points can be earned by securing and holding objectives. The match ends when one of the teams reaches the point limit and wins.
  • Team Deathmatch: This is also an infantry-only mode. The objective is simple: get more kills than the opponent team before the timer runs out.
  • Squad Deathmatch: In this mode, four squads compete against each other, and the first squad to reach the kill target wins the match.
