President Donald Trump is expected to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. Ahead of his appearance, Trump was asked about his thoughts on the surging ticket prices at Madison Square Garden.

According to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, the cheapest ticket price at StubHub costs $7,517. Courtside seats could rival the annual tuition fee at NYU, Vorkunov wrote.

A reporter asked Trump about the massive ticket price of the Knicks-Spurs game, which is close to $8,000. The reporter asked the president whether everyday Americans find it difficult to afford to attend live events in venues. All he said was this:

“You can watch it on TV. It’s sort of semi-free to watch it on TV. That’s the way life goes.”

NBA fans were stunned by what he said about the ticket prices, and some fans found it distasteful. Here are some of what the fans said.

“That’s a very dismissive take 😅 Watching the game on TV is one thing but it doesn’t really address the point about affordability and access to live sports for everyday fans,” a fan said.

@LegionHoops @atrupar That’s a very dismissive take 😅 Watching the game on TV is one thing but it doesn’t really address the point about affordability and access to live sports for everyday fans.

“Complete disconnect from reality of the average American lmao. This is who you dumba**es voted for,” another fan commented.

“Confirmed loss for the Knicks,” one fan said.

More fans were shocked by what Trump said about the tickets at the NBA Finals.

“He’s a businessman through and through…” someone commented.

“It’s not like going to the game is a first amendment right 🤣” a comment read.

“He’s not wrong but also the prices shouldn’t be that high,” one fan commented.

Adam Silver Comments on Donald Trump’s Upcoming NBA Finals Appearance

Being a New Yorker, President Donald Trump wants to show his support for the New York Knicks in Game 3. That is why he accepted the invitation from MSG owner James Dolan.

Ahead of his NBA Finals Game 3 appearance, commissioner Adam Silver was excited to learn that the POTUS wants to attend a playoff game.

“We’re seeing that in New York, and I think President Trump is very much a New Yorker, and I’m thrilled that yet another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knick team,” Silver said.

The New York Post reported that MSG will tighten security on Monday because of Trump’s arrival. Additionally, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani will also attend the game.

“MSG performed security walkthroughs in preparation for his potential visit, according to the sources,” the New York Post reported. “New York City mayor and diehard Knicks fan Zohran Mamdani also plans to attend Game 3, although he is not expected to sit alongside the president, according to sources. The White House did not immediately respond to comment.”

The city will provide the Knicks with the necessary support to defend their home court against the young Spurs team.
