Roman Reigns was backstage on RAW after an incredible two nights at Clash in Italy and on RAW. He told a 40-year-old Bloodline member that he should go on to win the King of the Ring tournament, dethrone Cody Rhodes, and win the WWE Title at SummerSlam 2026.

Reigns may have possibly missed the memo, but usually, the King and Queen of the Ring winners get to face the World Champions of their respective brands at SummerSlam. The key words are “of their respective brands,” as it’s not like the Royal Rumble, where the winner can pick the Champion of their choice at WrestleMania. That small tangent aside, Roman Reigns was coming off an incredibly emotional opening segment, where Jacob Fatu officially acknowledged him and joined the ranks in The Bloodline. That wasn’t before he had a heated confrontation with Jey Uso, but the deal is done, and Fatu didn’t backtrack on his word. Later, in a backstage segment, Roman Reigns told the 40-year-old Jey Uso that he needed to have his finger on the pulse with Fatu, because only he knows what that tough love is about.

Roman Reigns then told Jey Uso that while he knows he has held the World Heavyweight Title before, he hasn’t held the “other one”, meaning the Undisputed WWE Championship. Reigns told Jey to win the King of the Ring tournament and become the WWE Champion at SummerSlam by dethroning Cody Rhodes.

Of course, Reigns and Cody Rhodes had a momentary confronation in a backstage segment after the main event of Clash in Italy 2026. It seemed like a lot happened in that particular post-show, but either way, there seems to be a lot of build-up towards Reigns again.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the King of the Ring tournament plays out.
