New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is happy for the city and its basketball fanbase following the New York Knicks’ 4-0 whitewash of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals. This booked their spot in this year’s NBA finals for the first time since 1999.
However, on Sunday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Wilson will not be in attendance for the game despite his support. The main reason behind this decision is the absurd cost of the game’s tickets. Despite his four-year, $130 million contract, the wide receiver is passing up on it because of how expensive it is.
Thanks for the submission!

“He only did that s**t so someone would come on there and give him free f****g tickets to stop the drama. It’s just another athlete wanting something for free,” one fan commented.
“Good for him. We should all do a better job of refusing to buy things at rip-off prices. It’s only priced that way because too many people pay it. Prices go down when sales go down,” another fan said.
“Oh man it really hits home when spoiled athletes who have obtained generational wealth complain about pricing as if it truly impacts them financially. He’s so grounded and relatable,” a fan wrote.
“I don’t blame him in this economy,” another fan said.
“Hard to call them overpriced if people are still buying them at that price,” one fan wrote.
“If he did and later on went broke you’d write another article asking how did he spend all that money,” a fan commented.
Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Knicks and the Spurs will be played on Wednesday. According to StubHub, the ticket prices for this game at Frost Bank Center start at $1,373.

Garrett Wilson is gearing up for Year 5 with the Jets
Garrett Wilson himself is preparing for an important season with the New York Jets. During the 2025 season, they finished fourth in the AFC East with a disappointing 3-14 record.
Despite his four-year, $130 million extension, Wilson was limited to just seven games after suffering a knee injury in November. The wide receiver recorded 395 yards on 36 receptions and four touchdowns.
Coach Aaron Glenn is looking to improve things in his second year with the Jets. They kick off the 2026 season on the road against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
