Things are heating up between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes.
The couple met while they were both contestants on the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother in April 2025. Viewers started to speculate that the duo were becoming more than just friends while the show was airing. However, Siwa continually denied that her relationship with Hughes was more than platonic once they were out of the Big Brother house.
Siwa told Us Weekly exclusively in her May 2025 digital cover story that she fully understood “why the people were enjoying” the ins and outs of her friendship with Hughes.
“What’s so special about Chris and I is that our bond is so genuine that neither of us care what people make of it,” Siwa told Us. “Because we know our genuine friendship and we know our bond. It’s a great little special friendship that we have. And I literally send him videos of us dancing all the time.”

Weeks later, Siwa confirmed that she and Hughes had taken the next step in their relationship.

Siwa celebrated her one-year anniversary with Huges with a sweet social media post.
“The greatest gift I’ve ever received in life was 365 days ago🤍,” Siwa captioned a number of videos throughout their relationship. “What a beautiful year it’s been with you by my side. I wake up with more love every day, more gratitude every day, and a bigger smile on my face every day.” She continued, “From every phone call, to every plane ride, to every memory made together in the last year, I’m grateful for every single one and when I look back, I just smile to myself peacefully feeling so complete. Happy one year to the one I love, my bestest friend. ❤️.”
April 2025
Kath Ebbs confirmed their split from Siwa after the Celebrity Big Brother season finale. The show, which aired that same month, showed Siwa getting cozy with Hughes in the house.
Siwa and Hughes were also spotted out publicly for the first time days after her split from Ebbs. They appeared on ITV’s This Morning and addressed relationship rumors.
“It’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship,” Hughes said at the time. “And I think you can have, like, a soulmate friendship. I think that’s a thing.”

Siwa told Us where she and Hughes stood following their time in the Big Brother house.
“We still speak all the time, obviously, naturally,” she shared in her digital cover story, published on May 2. “Now to be out of the house, we just exist, and it is what it is. We’re happy, and we have each other. It’s a great little special friendship that we have.”

Siwa confirmed that her relationship with Hughes had shifted after he posted a pic of them in bed together via Snapchat.
“It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” Siwa told The Guardian in a statement, clapping back at “PR stunt” rumors. “Clearly, you’ve never been around us. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now.”

Hughes spoke about his romance with Siwa in-depth for the first time via a Fabulous cover story.
“Life has an unexpected way of bringing two people together, and this feels like that,” Hughes said. “We were meant to cross paths. We keep saying to each other it was serendipity. Life handed me a blessing in my lap.”
He added, “Our first kiss was genuinely special — it felt like I was in a movie. I can’t keep my hands off her now.”
Hughes also shut down criticism of their 11-year age gap and teased the potential of marriage down the line.
Siwa, for her part, reshared Hughes’ cover photos onto her Instagram Story.
“What a man,” she wrote. “Obviously, beautiful from the outside, but his core is more beautiful than anyone could even begin to imagine. … I’m lucky that I get to experience it in full every day.”
