Paulo Costa vs. Josh Hokit might not have been the rivalry people expected after UFC 327. While Hokit won impressively against Curtis Blaydes at heavyweight, Costa did his own magic with a stunning KO in his light heavyweight bout.

However, Costa’s been upset with the American since UFC 327. The Brazilian has claimed that Hokit winning two bonuses at the event was not correct, and he deserved one for his finish.

The pair have traded online blows ever since, and Costa elaborated on their growing rivalry while on Submission Radio.

‘The Eraser’ was asked about a prediction for this fight, and he explained how it would be better than the Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz rivalry.

“Would be something unbelievable. I would say like Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor but I think it can be even better because we are heavier than those guys, and have more knockout power. So, maybe he gonna talk sh**, I’m gonna talk sh** as well, gonna bring a lot of entertainment I think.”

McGregor and Diaz fought twice in the UFC, and both won one battle each. Those two fights are considered some of the best in the promotion’s history, and the bad blood between them also ensured fireworks before and after the clash.

Paulo Costa reveals why he wants to fight Josh Hokit

In the same interview, Paulo Costa was asked why he wanted to fight Josh Hokit. The Brazilian shared three reasons for the battle, with the first one being the issue with the UFC 327 bonuses:

“Very first one, he got my bonus. He two bonus at UFC 327 in Miami, and one of them was mine. He got my money. When you have my money, you need to make him pay or fight him or fight him and make him pay at the same time.”

The other two points he made were that Hokit was an exciting fighter, and despite the American fighting in the heavyweight division, he wasn’t all that bigger than Costa.

Hokit already has a big fight next with a clash at the Freedom 250 card. The fight was set up during UFC 327 with Derrick Lewis being the other part of the battle.
