Police in Georgia are investigating the killing of a pregnant mother-of-two who was found shot to death in her vehicle on an Atlanta highway during rush hour.

Atlanta cops were called about a person possibly shot on Interstate 75 on Tuesday, April 14, at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Investigators came upon the white BMW SUV on the shoulder of the northbound side of the highway, not far from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport — its right turn signal still flashing.

It was obvious, police said, that the female driver — Bianca Huntley — was the victim of “an apparent gunshot wound.”

Huntley, 34, was shot while on her drive home. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and died, despite doctors’ best efforts.

The “preliminary investigation indicates the victim may have sustained her injuries at a separate and currently unknown location,” the department said in a news release.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner determined that Huntley died from a “gunshot wound involving the left arm and torso.”

“Preliminary investigation indicates the victim may have sustained her injuries at a separate and currently unknown location,” the police said.

Her mother, Gloria Allen, told 11 Alive that the slain woman was “a shining light that got snuffed out.

She said that Huntley — originally from Greensboro, North Carolina — moved to Atlanta nine years ago for her job at courier and logistics company, DHL. She was also recently promoted as a quality manager, the grieving grandmother explained.

“She had just gotten a promotion,” Allen enthused to the station. “She was in the process of hiring a team when her life was tragically ended.”

Allen, she added, had two daughters, aged 14 and 5. Allen did not reveal the gender of the baby Huntley was carrying.

Huntley was also proud of becoming a homeowner by the time she turned 30, Allen said.

“By herself, OK, raising two daughters, because of her hard work and dedication — nobody did it for her, she did it,” Allen said.

She also said that she believes this was no simple case of road rage — but that someone specifically targeted her daughter.
