Florida guard Me’Arah O’Neal has entered the transfer portal, her representative told On3 on Tuesday. O’Neal, the daughter of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, spent her first two collegiate seasons with the Gators, but now hopes to find a new team.
When fans caught wind of reports that O’Neal had entered the transfer portal, they had some interesting reactions.
“Wish her luck. Honestly she is not one of the best players,” one wrote.
“Come to Gamecocks nation,” another added.
“I would love to see her at South Carolina with Dawn Staley!! She is a baller that would be great in South Carolina!!” a third commented.

Apart from O’Neal, Liv McGill and Laila Reynolds also left Florida this offseason.

Me’Arah O’Neal grew into an important player at Florida in 2025-26 season


Me’Arah O’Neal enrolled at Florida in 2024. She played 35 games (eight starts), contributing 4.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
However, in her second season with the Gators, O’Neal started 33 games, averaging 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Despite O’Neal’s strong performances at Florida last season, the program didn’t qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
It remains to be seen where O’Neal will play next season.
